The EServer is a growing online community where hundreds of writers, artists, editors and scholars gather to publish and discuss their works. is a free, nonprofit publishing cooperative that publishes more than thirty thousand writings in the arts and humanities to more than thirty thousand visitors per day (over a million readers per month).

The "" domain name was registered in 1997, replacing the Carnegie Mellondomain names which had been used from 1990-1997. Today, the older name "English Server" has been deprecated, and we talk about our system now as "" or "the EServer".
