Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is a communications protocol used to transfer information. It was originally developed for the World-Wide Web, to provide a way to publish and retrieve hypertext pages. HTTP is a request/response protocol between a client and a server, such as the EServer.
The EServer uses the Open Source software Apache to serve HTTP requests. Our server is highly customized to serve websites quickly, to proxy connections to EServer Content Management Systems, and to serve WebDAV file sharing (which copies files to and from the EServer using HTTP).
